Worship Associate Program

First Unitarian Congregation has a long history of lay involvement in worship services through opportunities for preaching, readings, story telling, drama and music. The Worship Associates program offers congregation members an opportunity to participate regularly in worship and to take on significant responsibilities in shaping and delivering a worship experience to the congregation.

Church members, acting as Worship Associates, assist the ministers in the thematic and topic development of worship services and sermons during the church year. Their participation during the Sunday worship service is a testimony to our community’s commitment to direct congregational involvement in the worship and the liturgy of the church.

The Worship Associates are made up of voting members of the congregation. The group meets quarterly with the ministers to discuss and plan the upcoming worship services. Each Associate works with a minister to develop and conduct three to four services during the church year.
