The Partner Church Program couples Unitarian Universalist
congregations in North America with Unitarian congregations in
Transylvania, Hungary, and the Czech republic. We are fortunate to have
Gyor, Hungary, as our partner.
The congregation in Gyor is new comprised largely of Transylvanian
immigrants to Hungary, They own a home and have done much work on the
house and created lovely gardens on the grounds. Nearly a half dozen
of our members have
traveled to Hungary to visit.
Their minister serves a 20,000 squ. km parish. Locally he rides his
bike.

The Gyor congregation is small but filled with spirit and hard
workers. Their minister, Rev. Matyas Sandor, and his wife Susan, work
hard to help the Gyor congregation grow.

Our Partner Church Committee works hard to raise funds for the Gyor
congregation, helping them to install plumbing, electricity, and a
phone line in the home. We are currently raising funds through
luncheons and concerts to help pay for the transportation costs of
their minister. All donations are welcome. |
